FAQ
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Individual session (50 minutes): $200
Couples/family/relationship session (50 minutes) $250
Longer sessions may be possible, and will be pro-rated based on my standard session fee.
I reserve several spots in my practice for those who may need a sliding scale fee. You are welcome to inquire if I have any sliding scale spots if needed when you reach out and we can discuss your situation.
CAN I USE MY INSURANCE?
I do not file with or bill any insurance, but I can provide you with a monthly statement for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please reach out to your insurance company to check if your sessions will be covered, and their policies on reimbursement. Payment is due in full at the time of service. I cannot guarantee reimbursement in any amount from any insurance company.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND THERAPY?
After my years in practice, I've seen clients notice the most meaningful change when we meet weekly. To build our therapeutic alliance and relationship (the most important factor in therapy to create change), all new clients begin with weekly sessions. If is appropriate and in alignment with your therapy goals, we can later discuss reduction in frequency to every other week.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN THE FIRST SESSION?
In our first session together, we'll start by looking at what's happening in the present that brought you to reach out to me. I may ask some questions about the past (mental health or relationship history, for example) as a way to contextualize what you're experiencing now, and to learn about how you've navigated life's challenges. In the first session, I'll begin to explore what your goals are for therapy so that we can build a roadmap to get you there. You don't need to prepare anything for our first session! You can take a breath and just show up as you are.
